Q: Does Carbonite backup software programs on my Mac, in addition to all my files? I am a freelance graphic designer and I seek an option that also keep a copy offsite all my software.
A: Unfortunately, only Carbonite HomePlus and HomePremier, which are only available for Windows, have the "Mirror Image" function. This option will actually save your entire operating system, software and drivers for your own designated external hard drive. Carbonite does not yet have an equivalent feature for Mac users. It will, however, backup files and documents generated by the software, you just have to make sure you select them manually for backup. Check if any of your software previously came with an installation disk. If that is the case, then in case of accident or loss of computer you will be able to re-install the software, and that Carbonite back up the following program files.
