A: Time Machine is very fast and very convenient, but it has a weakness: It is attached to your computer. Why is that a weakness? All this aside, there is something else Carbonite that Time Machine does not: It allows you to remotely access your files anywhere you have an Internet connection. So if you're at work or on vacation, you can retrieve important files safely and securely. While Time Machine is easy to use, there is nothing more useful or secure as an online backup service like Carbonite.
