Would you be more comfortable meeting a stranger in person or open an attachment to 'them? According to a new study from Webroot, more people feel more comfortable to meet a stranger in person. The study involved 1,637 Internet users aged 18 and older and asked them to classify different levels of off-line and online behaviors threat. Interestingly, the study showed that many respondents view online threats to be the same or more than one risk that threats offline.

For example, 85 percent of respondents said that using a computer without security software on it a high risk, while only 82 percent said that leaving your car door open is at high risk. Similarly, 75 percent said that making an online purchase was not safe, while only 65 percent said that giving out personal information over the phone puts you at risk. The survey also revealed that almost half of people now see their stolen phone the same as having a stolen wallet or purse.

And, in fact, in most cases, many of these situations can pose the same threat to both offline and online safety.
