Q: I attended the University of Phoenix. I have 2 more classes to go to my associates. I wanted to know if I would be able to transfer my credits and go for my Bachelors with the American University InterContinental.
IAU will accept transfer credits from a school that is accredited by a body recognized by the Secretary of Education of the United States. The University of Phoenix is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association, so you should be fine. IAU assess credits that you took at the University of Phoenix and see if they fit your desired program at AIU.
You should have no problem to transfer general education classes such as composition or basic math requirements. The more specific classes are where it gets tricky. If you were an art student at the University of Phoenix, but want to study business at AIU, most of these art classes will not count for much. If you want to stay in the same field of study for your Bachelors in IAU, most of your money should be transferred with little problem. But each credit is subject to the evaluation process of the IAU, so nothing is guaranteed.
